Norwegian ( DY )named this year's challenge in Finland
Norwegian has been named this year's challenge in Finland. The association for the Finnish tourism journalists-The Finnish Guild of Travel Writers comments that the award is justified because DY has turned upside down the whole Finnish transport industry.
- With low prices, Norwegian has really got fins to fly. Not only have passengers from competing airlines rushed to Norwegian, but the company has also managed to attract a whole new group of passengers, those who have chosen train. Norwegian has challenged the price competition in a country with a history of high ticket prices by train or plane, says Eero Nokela, Chairman of The Finnish Guild of Travel Writers.
The award ceremony takes place during the travel fair Matka Expo in Helsinki.
- The award means a lot and inspires us to give the Finns even more new routes and flights with quality at a low price. We opened a base in Finland at the end of March last year and had nearly a million passengers in the initial year, we are very pleased with, says CEO Bjørn Kjos.
