Alitalia is operating charter flights this winter season to several sun locations throughout the Carribean, African coasts/etc.
Most charters are operating with the ex-AP A330 a/c, however some are rotations with 772s during down-time.
AZ cut LAX this winter (772) and Chicago (A330) so there is some slack in the long-haul fleet.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 5): Yes but they will be back in May thiis year.
Correct, initially at 3x weekly, but moving to daily in June/July/August.
All AZ 777s should be reconfigured with the new configuration before the summer season starts supposedly, featuring:
-All flat-bed seating in J (A330 seat but wider, in 1-2-1 configuration)
-New ClassicaPlus seat (AZ is adapting AF's Premium Voyageur seat for the 777 a/c) in a 2-4-2 configuration
-Economy/Economy Comfort - Y is moving to 3-4-3, however the side sections (3/3) are supposed to be in a 34" pitch vs. the center at 31-32"
