N700TS is the L-1011 that went to Kansas last Feb. It's N number is still registered to the museum, yet on FlightAware, it shows a flight in August from Sanford to Palm Beach. AFAIK, the engines were removed and she was not to fly any more. How could this flight show up? I can see it showing as filed, hell, I could file one for it myself, but it shows that somebody flew that flight. Speed and altitude wise, it's a slam dunk for what I would expect a decrepit airliner to make a short hop at. Did they just use the N number or what?

N700TS

The FAA still shows N700TS to be registered to the museum; it expires next year, so it's not some other plane.

Likely an error in FlightAware's system.

The 747 will always be the TRUE queen of the skies!

Whatever it was, it was likely a jet. 161nm in 32 minutes topping out a little over 20,000 feet.

That's why I was confused.

But somebody still flew it. I wonder if they used the wrong callsign or something.

They never reached FL180 actually, but the speed is indicative of a jet.

It flew to Kansas City, Missouri. Not Kansas.
