MIRAMAR, Fla., Jan 24, 2012 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Spirit Airlines (Nasdaq:SAVE) today announced that it will begin daily non-stop service between Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Pittsburgh and Orlando, Florida on May 17, 2012.

I was pretty happy when I was reading this. It shows that either the demand is there.

Personally I could even see them flying direct to LAS

one can dream

I suspect that this route will be subsidized. With G4 leaving CRW-SFB, I wouldn't be surprised if NK starts CRW-MCO

G4 never flew to CRW, and still flies HTS-SFB.

CRW has AirTran flying to MCO, and southwest cut us in the city-slash-a-thon. Hopefully NK picks it up.

What do you base this on? Spirit already serves LBE to FLL and MYR with very high load factors. LBE did receive a federal grant to help with advertising, but the flights themselves are not subsidized.

Glad to see NK building up LBE, but I suspect that LAS would be along shot from there.
NK LAS build up seems to be mostly west coast, and anything they do from the east is mainly larger cities (ORD, DTW, FLL) I would expect to see BOS-LAS at some point before any smaller cities on the east coast get Vegas service

I have no association with Spirit Airlines

It would be great if they picked up the MDT-MCO route that FL is dropping in August.
