American Airlines picks Cathay's business class for new planes

The only bad thing it seems is if you are traveling with someone and might be hard to have a conversation.

We are talking now 4 across instead of 7 on the current 772. Being angled, could it possibly be that they can fit an extra row of seats?

That is a significant upgrade from what they rolled out on their 767 fleet a few years back. Combined with their new Flagship Suite in First, AA looks to be offering a solid premium cabin experience from a hard-product aspect (on the 77W, at least).

15.9 in screens. It will be nice. I wonder if they will update the current 772 and 763? I doubt they will.

They're the same seats, but may be the other manufacturer. Also the same seats Cathay and Delta's 747s are getting.

I'm sure that's just coincidence, but with all the merger talk flying about, that does make one say, "Hmmm...".

Finally made it to an airline mecca!

Solid? If they implement these products fleet wide, they will have the best combination of first and business products in the US.

I am happy that they did not go the cheap route (see Delta) with the detailing on the shell. This shell is more Cathay-like with the wings at the headrest and the metal trim.

It also seems that AA will be moving away from interior schemes based on the color blue. I like the grey, brown tones.

No. They are forward facing and angled towards the window, which alleviates one of the chief complaints about herringbone seating. Of course, that's on flights where there is usually nothing to see for 98% of the flight anyway, but I still like these better.

Yes, just as cheaply detailed as Delta's seat. Well, at least, US Airways has the faux-wood on the ledge.

Very nice job AA!

The question is... will the new Biz Suites be put on the 763s and 772s as well?

Not sure about the 772s, quite likely i'd think.
763s.... highly doubt it. Don't see how that how that seat would work in that cabin.

SO HAPPY they kept the swivel seats and pretty much the same F product that they already had which is pretty awesome IMHO though incredibly worn and shabby.

i tried searching but couldnt tell when the 773 deliveries are supposed to be taking place beyond the initial one. anyone? thanks!

Potentially, but i figure that drops the J seats to at least 24 from 30, in the same space. Doesn't seem like a very efficient option on the 767. I could be wrong.

New interiors combined with old, sour, ancient DFW senior snappy cabin crews, pity!  . AA needs NEW blood and offer an incentive for senior Flight Attendants to retire (like UAL new agreement). I can only imagine AA Flight Attendants dealing w/the premium open bar!!!! LOL. . AA's management out of touch w/reality never ceases to amaze me!
