Gulf Air Fleet Restructuring

Taking a look at the Gulf Air fleet closely, we can see that there are many ageing 767-300's and even A340-300 aircraft, both with quite high cycles, I am wondering if Gulf Air is considering upgrading its fleet size with newer aircraft in the near future?
Does anyone see Gulf Air utilising perhaps a few 777's or 744's? Or will we even see the A380 in Gulf Air's bold and beautiful aubergine, green and red stripes?

What do you think, or even know?

All replies welcome.

Thanks,

GulfAir.

Fleet restructuring requires money. GF don't have any.

They already got their fingers burnt in the 90s with the A340/A330/A320 deal - they won't do that again, that's for sure.

I don't think they will have the resources to upgrade the fleet .

As for your strapline at the end of your message 'redefining business travel', Emirates used a similar strapline back in the very early days in their advertising...

'redefining the shape of air travel' so really we have been there done that!

I would think that the purchase of the new A330's will keep there hands full (and are A340 really ageing????), do they really need more?

One of there A340-300 was sold to Srilankan and
burned out last month (4R-ADD)
One A330 is leased out to TAM Brasil.
Two A320 are already written of.
A few years back, they cancelled an order for 777 and go for the A330
