Hello

I booked the following flight MAD-TLV on Iberia and it says the aircraft is a A340-200. As far as I knew Iberia only operated the 300/600 series. No seat map is available so I can't verify the aircraft type.

IB3754 MAD 10:00 TLV 5:40 342 04:40

Does anyone know is this an error, or is it a wet lease or something?

Thanks

Its a A340-300 but I think it has the new Business Class configuration with less J seats and more Y seats.

Enjoy TLV!!

It is the code for some A340-300's which have a different configuration. Less J/C and more Y/C. But they are still Airbus 340-300.
Hope it helps

Is it just me, or is this somewhat confusing -- surely IB could have used a less ambiguous code, 34Y or something like that?

It's both: confusing and non-sense as it has always been A342 means 340-200. IB has used even the 345 code to refer some 340-642 configurations. More confusion to add.

And by the way .......sorry for my last reply ....but ...... how many times has been this topic discussed? no 1, no 2 ....neither 3 times but much more.

Sometimes you only need do a short, quick search spending less than 5 minutes. Is it a lot to ask? I don't think so.

Time flies! Enjoy life!
