A BE SAAB 340 was on approach to SYY while the RAF were using the airfield during a training exercise of a simulated bombing mission on the airfield. The SAAB had a TCAS Alert and had to take evasive action. The military were unaware of the scheduled flight due in, and the SAAB had not been informed of the military operations at the airport.
Sounds like a pretty close call, having personally had a run in with a Tornado whilst flying a Cessna 152 before I know it shakes you up a bit, fortunately all ended well in this instance.
