Eastern, Braniff, Piedmont (merged w/USAir), Southern (merged w/North Central to form Republic, who merged w/NWA), Air Atlanta, Kiwi International, ProAir, Private Jet (changed name to National, then soon disappeared), Western Pacific, BCal, Southeast, Varig, JAL, Cayman Airways, Austrian Airways, Sabena, I'm sure there are numerous others, but I'm not really sure what other airlines (still around or grounded) ever flew into ATL.

My hometown airport, EWR (Newark, NJ), has seen many carriers come and go. First, before Continental, there was PeoplExpress. Now ExPeoplExpress....
Other airlines that used to serve Newark that no longer exist:
Sun Jet International
New York Airways (helicopter shuttle service)
Colonial Airways (shuttle service, using CV580s)
Airlines that served EWR but were swallowed by bigger fish:
New York Air
TWA (they had a flight to LHR in 1977, using a 707)
Airlines that still exist but no longer serve EWR:

"ValuJet - RIP
Republic - Now northwest"
I think Valujet is now AirTran. Correct me if I am wrong, I am from Canada and have never seen either airline . I think I read that on the forums, they probably changed their name because of the bad rep they got after that crash.

1. Air Canada (terminated before the war 1991, never came back)
2. PanAm (r.i.p.)
3. JAT (ZAG was JAT's hub, seems like they are coming back next year...)
4. Adria Airways (still using ZAG as a alternative apt for LJU on bad weather conditions)
Also, KLM and SAS aircrafts are not visiting ZAG anymore, since they have codeshare agreement with other airlines (same as Delta).
