Today G-CPET which is now known as N956FD is due to leave LGW at 13:00 local time (about 4 hours time) and will head for Victorville, California via Bangor. I know this was the last 757 to leave the BA fleet, so I assume that this is the very last one left at LGW going to FedEx.

The aircraft in the great retro livery before being stripped now to bare white.

I believe the last ex BA 757 to leave Gatwick bound for FedEx was G-CPES (now N955FD) just over a month ago on the 7th Jan.

Im glad they are going to another home rather than being scrapped!

First of all thank you for this information.... Yes, I do agree with you that G-CPES will have a other home then being scrapped!!!!!!!! I remember many years ago flying from ZRH to LHR they used the B757's on this route... also working on the Ramp at ZRH I was only (when possible) to un-load a 757 that was not only BA but some others to!!!!

Simply a pity that there are not more 757's around in ZRH.... but I always remember the super times!!!!!

Two planes I wish BA had never retired: The 757 and Concorde! The two best looking planes in my opinion too. I'll miss that sound the RB211 made  . Good bye 757, you worked well for BA!

Yeah it is a shame not more are around, but at least a lot of charter airlines here in Europe use the 757's. Here at LGW we have Monarch (their 757's may go to Fedex, some have already), Thomson and Thomas Cook who have quite a lot here.

Anyway never give up, maybe one day someone will operate 757's out of ZRH again!

A great article was written by a 757/767 BA Captain here. Really good read, and some good pictures:

According to the article it says G-BIKB was the first 757 for BA and the 10th 757 to be built. Interestingly this aircraft is still flying today with DHL as D-ALEB, nearly 30 years later after being delievered to BA.

On the left is the aircraft at LHR in 1983, and on the right is the same aircraft in 2011.

I think once the aircraft retires from DHL they should give it back to BA and put it in a musuem with Concorde.

PEJ has left Open Skies and is now at LHR.
It is not part of the Fedex deal.
I don't believe it can go to Fedex as it has winglets?

Anyone know its fate?

There was a thread on it a couple weeks ago, some say it was going to go to Private Air and replace HB-IEE.
