When I last visited VNY, I remember seeing (though not photographing) a Dassault Falcon 7X that, at the time, I identified as belonging to Bill Cosby based on something I'd read someplace. Is this true, did he ever have one?

Used to often see Bill Cosby's beige G-!V at VNY and TEB. NxxxCC (Camille Cosby, his wife) and flown by an all African-American crew. Haven't seen it in a few years so perhaps he upgraded.
Also at VNY a G-V owned by actor Jim Carry. NxxxJC.
Off the top of my head...
Movie director Francis Ford Coppola has a Falcon 7X. NxxxAZ
Lance Armstrong has a G-IVSP, N7LA.
Michael Jordon has a G-IV, NxxxMJ.
Oprah has a GLEX.
Comedian Ron White has a pirate themed Westwind II.

Agreed! Looks like a dodgy paint job from an airline in the 90's. I think he should have a new livery and if anything should be like this amazing Air New Zealand paint job!

Even the majority of pro athletes do not have the means to own their own jets like that. Golfers and racers do more often since they have to travel more and don't have a team to arrange travel for them.

I know a lot of these guys are making oodles on money, but it still blows my mind that some of these lesser celebrities can afford to tool around in G4s and other aircraft worth dozens of millions of dollars. Granted, I'm sure many of them are leased, but still.

A lot of these celebrity owned airplanes are chartered out when not being used by their owners. They contract with a management company who supplies the flight crews and oversees the maintenance. The income helps defray the costs of owning and operating these airplanes.
The very wealthy like Donald Trump, Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates can well afford to own their airplanes and do not charter them out
