Dear All,
It's been just over a month since AirTran began flying four daily flights between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Does anyone know how they are doing on the route? Work at either airport and see how full the planes are? I hope they're filling their planes and giving US Airways solid competition on the route. Thanks,

I am very curious about this too. It was said back at the time when PIT-PHL was launched that both PIT-MDW and PIT-ATL were doing very well but PIT-LGA was still iffy. Anybody have some info for us?

i live in PHL and fly from PIT-PHL often!! Both airports LOVE AirTran to death lol...
from what i have seen and been told, the lowest load factor i know of PHL-PIT is 75%...granted this is sometime in July. It is doing quite well. They have wonderful connections from each airport, biz from PIT-PHL(MDW in PIT some ATL) and leisure from PHL-PIT (Florida in PHL and some ATL too). Smart move!

Good to hear about high load factors, thanks Tony. Now that the merger attempt is over, US doesn't have to act like a choirboy anymore....DOJ should watch US's capacity and fares on the route closely.

My Grandma just retired from US and has lot sof friend there, and when the merger went bust USAirways matched AirTran's $49.00 fare on all there flights she said...but when you do that to an airline who has survived Delta for 8 years, it doesnt mean much =P
