Topic title says it all. Coming on top of CI storing 10% of its 744F fleet (2 planes). Who will be next to cut back ? CX? Victorville may start looking like 08/09 again with a bunch of freighters parked.

When combination carriers scale down their freighter fleets, all cargo carriers are even hit harder in times of recession.

Expect the TNT freighters to be parked some time this year once the acquisition b y TNT or FX comes throiugh. FX definately won't need the 744F, UPS eventually.

Anyway, the market will come back again, this is an endless cycle and carriers which are flexible enough to scale down their costs in pair with income survive.

CX have had no indications of storing planes. Having said that, they have delayed two of their 748F deliveries for another year. In the meantime, some 748Fs are still arriving and at the same time some of the older 744BCFs are still being transferred as planned to Air China Cargo. Overall, cargo capacity is still increasing though, and a bunch of cargo flights are being cancelled every week due to weaker demand. Remains to be seen how fleet planning goes although more BCFs may be transferred to Air Hong Kong as their cargo is still doing fairly well.
