There is definitely something weird going on - any guesses on the causes of these repeated tire failures?
If I'm not mistaken, due to existing sanctions on Iranian airlines such as Iran Air and Mahan Air, they are unable to purchase new tires directly from western manufacturers such as Dunlop and Goodyear, so if they aren't buying them directly from the manufacturers they are inevitably obtaining them through third parties. Could this simply be a case of suspect quality tires being supplied by Iranian middle-men?
That's an average of one every 6 weeks... There is something very wrong here.
I just pray that there continues to be no serious casualties, both Iran Air and Mahan Air have been very lucky so far, although 11 people were injured in the Mahan Air incident.
