During the 4th leg of the tour, the 787 will visit Mexico City.

From Boeing newairplane site:

Quote:

787 Dreamliner - DREAM)TOUR

Sitting higher than 7,300ft (2,225 meters), Mexico City has always played an integral part in Boeing's flight test programs for high altitude testing. During its time in Mexico City, the 787 Dreamliner will be visited by long-time Boeing customer AeroMexico - the first Latin American carrier to order the Dreamliner.

The Dream Tour airplane, ZA003 is expected to arrive at 15:00 hour local time.

Wonder if there will be an order for more planes.

These tours are about buzz for the local customer. It should generate a lot media for Aero Mexico. It was very successful at that in Toronto with a number of newpaper articles, online, and TV, covering both the arrival and AC anniversary events.

ORD? I thought it was heading down to MEX after EWR, then PHX, and SAN?

According to Flightaware, the plane will be leaving ORD shortly, enroute to Mexico City.

I think it was the CBS2 Chicago Facebook page said that it came into ORD to pick up 4 passengers for the next leg of the tour. I can only assume it was some Boeing people from the big offices downtown. I do not think it was here long. I work not to far from ORD, if I knew in advance I would've taken an early/longer lunch to see it.

I guess it must of been some sort of special unscheduled VIP stop of some sort. It was not listed on the
Boeing website.

I saw it yesterday (Thursday, March 8), parked inside a hangar next to AM's T2. I believe that is the place where it is being showcased to AM management and special guests.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Does anyone know when she is scheduled to leave PHX? Local media says it is here for the weekend. I could not make it down to Sky Harbor for the inbound today so I would really like to see the departure. Thanks

Don't know.
I missed yesterdays arrival also. But I missed it because the flight was not on flightaware. I searched by operator (Boeing), by type (788), and by city pair, so I figured the flight was delayed. Then I saw video of it in PHX on the TV news.
What gives? Why would they block a flight that they are publicizing so aggressively?

During the aircraft presentation and on the sidelines of the event, the airline CEO revealed the plans for the 787 and other aircrafts:

  • Routes - Firsts routes this plane will be flown are CDG and NRT, the latter nonstop when possible.
  • Configuration - The plane will have 240 seats with around 40 seats in biz-first.
  • Orders and deliveries - At least 7 aircraft will join the fleet, 3 in 2013, 2 in 2014 and 2 in 2015. 2 owned, 5 leased. 787-9 is being studied.
  • 77W - This aircraft has been evaluated by the company. They see it in the fleet by 3 or 4 years, probably.
  • 738 - 10 brand new 738 with IFE(?) and Sky Interiors will be added. All owned by the airline.
  • E-jets - 10 190s and 3 170s will be added in 2012. AM is planning to replace all 145s with E-jets in 2-3 years.

The plane departed yesterday enroute to PHX flying over CUU: MMMX-MMCU-KPHX 14:23 CST 16:38 MST.

PHX and SAN will host the tour in the following days.
