I would say that Southwest's slogan is one of the most popular, as it appears in national magazines, newspapers, and television ads. Granted, I used to live in Atlanta, which SWA does not serve, so we received no regional ads there. But now in Orlando, you see billboards and newspaper ads all the time.

Plus, some of their "sometimes you just gotta get away" TV ads are among the funniest out there.

I've got one that one of the airlines might want to consider:

"Fly Smarter. Fly (insert airline name here)."

what about "FlyDangerously - Delta" hahahha! Ok, on a serious note, I cannot stand to fly Southwest Airlines, but they DO have very catchy marketing schemes.

"Go. See. Do."
"Just Plane Smart"
"Just Say When"
"The Company Plane"

America West:
"What We Serve Is You"

D L X,

That is not their slogan, but an ad gimmick. A good ad gimmick at that!

I like how the TV commercials are consistent with the 'ding' and then that signature phrase.

Who was it had the slogan back in the 70's, "We're ready when you are"?

And who can forget old Continental's "The proud bird with the golden tail"?

Eastern's "We have to earn our wings every day" was a favorite of mine. NW's "Some peoplel just know how to fly" was a good one too.

I recall the old National having one, but I can't recall it.

United's "Fly the Friendly Skies" is about the closest thing to a household phrase that's going...(right up there with Coke is the Real ______)...

Trivia: Anyone remember Pan Am's last big slogan?

Answer: You Can't Beat the Experience
(having flown Pan Am is those sad final days, I can tell you it was pretty easy to beat the experience!)

I liked United's Rhapsody in Blue marketing scheme, "Reddedicated to giving you the service you deserve. Come fly the friendly skies."

Northwest's "Clearing the Way" hasn't seem to taken off. They announced it in one of their company newsletters last summer, but it has yet to appear.

I also like the Southwest "You are now free to move about the country."

SFOintern---You left out the most recent TWA slogan: One Mission. Yours.
That's a good one

US Airways does have a "quasi-slogan" in: DESTINATION: (insert reason for travel here) such as
The Big Picture
Personal Space
Time Out
Incommunicado, etc.

My fav slogans are:
USAir-USAir begins with you.
Continental-Work hard, fly right.
jetBlue-Somebody up there likes you.
Spirit-Catch The Spirit

SFOIntern, define a slogan. That catchphrase appears in ALL of WN's commercials. Most of these other phrases do not appear everywhere in other airlines' ads.

You can't forget Continental's older "More Airline for your Money", but it wasn't that great.

Here are my favorites:

CO- Work Hard, Fly Right; The Proud Bird with the Golden Tail; and We Move our Tail for You.

NW- Some People Just Know How to Fly; Come up where the living's beautiful

DL- You'll Love the Way we Fly; On top of the World
(I think DL was We're Ready when You Are, but I am not certain of that)

UA- Come Fly the Friendly Skies; The largest Airline in the Free World

AA- (the jingle) "We're American Air-Lines, Something Special in the Air..."

TWA- The Most Comfortable Way to Fly

Western- The ONLY way to fly

British Airways- To Fly To Serve; It's nice to have you with us; The World's Favourite Airline

Lufthansa- People Expect the World of Us

Eastern: The Wings of Man; America's Favorite Way to Fly

QANTAS- The Australian Airline

KLM- The Reliable Airline

And of Course (who could forget):

National Airlines' Fly Me campaign.
