Quoting YOWza (Reply 5):
I was under the impression that the length difference between the 300 and 500 were almost negligible. Is that wrong?
I would say that the 500 is longer enough to see w/ the naked eye, but with a difference of 14ft or 4.25m, that is of course, a subjective opinion. For me the tie-breaker are the engines. The 500's are massive compared to the 300, and also do not make use of the single piece "hairdryer" engine cowl.

Quoting AM001 (Reply 8): I have to go back and say it's definitely the 300, confirmed with the engines and with the smaller logo...
No, it was the -200 A7-HHK and it's on its way to LEMD right now.
Interestingly, the A340-300 received a brand new cabin in Texas, then came to Hamburg and was painted white and put up for sale, then after several years got painted back in the QR colors (but the latest scheme) and is now apparently back in the Amiri fleet. For what it's worth, it's flying KJFK-OMDB right now.

Quoting YOWza (Reply 5): Not a very halal place to find a QR bird
There's a lot of Middle East money in Las Vegas real estate (eg: CityCenter) and miscellaneous companies. The prophet doesn't like gambling, but the prophet says nothing (I think) of legitimate profits from others' gambling activities.

If you tried to avoid every potentially sinful place, you couldn't leave the graveyard. The bird's routing today is LEMD-EGKK-EHBK-EGLL. Not exactly places known for their religious lifestyles either.
