It looks like the ERI runway extension is going to be ready by the end of 2012. Are there any indications of new airlines or existing ones expanding their operations? The runway will extended to 7500 ft. Or do you think airlines will look to pass over Erie becuase of the proximity of CLE-PIT-BUF all 100 miles away.

There have been rumors about Allegiant wanting to start service to Orlando.

Right now there are only 3 destinations ERI serves

UA
CLE - 4X Dash 8-2

US
PHI - 3X Dash 8-3

DL
DTW - 4X CRJ-2

P.S. this is my first post on here, so please be nice

I think an ERJ from ERI-EWR/LGA would do well.

Why doesn't ERI have any flights to ORD, BOS, JFK, ATL, etc.?

You may see added RJ service. The problem in ERI for years has been the runway cannot handle RJ's during winter weather because it was too short. 7,500 feet will help tremendously in that regard. Now that it would appear that the issue may have been solved with a longer runway, I think a lot of airlines will take a look at ERI. DL to LGA would be a given right off the bat.
