Now it's official:
From the end of October AZ and NW will stop their code-sharing between US and Italy.
It's not sure the future of the daily DTW-FCO operated by NW.
This decision comes after AZ decided to join Skyteam.
Also few months ago AZ ended its code-sharing with CO.
Now we wait to know the new scheduled US-Italy and the new DL-AZ code-sharing.
For the winter timetable seem there won't be big change, but from summer 2002 timetable it seem likely to see a MXP-ATL and FCO-BOS.
Also from summer 2002 we will see some new B777/200er with AZ colourscheme.

Well,
it was just a matter of time before Alitalia annouced the end of their relationship with NW.
So Delta is the third and hopefully the ultimate American partner for AZ.
I am almost sure that NW will drop the route from DTW as I don't think it can generate a lot of traffic.
By the way, do you think we will be able to see some flights operated by either DL or AZ from cities like CVG, DFW and MCO?

CVG,DFW and MCO.... I think it's possible but not in the next two years. I think before they will concentrate on their actually destinations.
ATL-MXP and ATL-FCO all year are a MUST, plus a FCO-BOS, expecially when DL will open its new terminal.

I though AZ is reducing it's long-hauls to FCO? It ended MIA-FCO last spring and now the only long-hauls to FCO go to JFK and EWR. Is it once again starting long-hauls to FCO? Any chance MIA-FCO will return? People have to remember that unlike Air France, Alitalia is not a world dominating airline. Yes, they are large, they are getting 777s, but they are nothing like AF, so don't look for them at CVG, DFW, and especially MCO, anytime soon.
