Makes sense. * hub, short enough to do 1 RT per day w 1 aircraft, high premium market, not as delay prone as EWR.

Quoting GUYAIR707 (Reply 14): I am sure this has been discussed before but how does LH justify operating both the 748 and the A388?
Well one aspect is that the 748 will ultimately replace the 744.

I'm with you there! As long as we don't seem to be getting a whale jet anytime soon, let's at least get the new jumbo!

There are many airports that need the capacity but can't handle the A380.

for SFO would love to see A388 for the summer and B748I for the other seasons.
25 phishphan70: WOW! Ask and you shall receive! I'm giving you the credit for the return of the beauty Wilco! You just made my day, and it sounds like I need to sche
26 speedbird217: Nice! Good news for IAD, glad to hear it. Might be a reason to choose LH instead of BA on my next flight to DC... Thanks for the info.
27 holzmann: As expected and as was told to me by an inside source about six months ago.
28 DocLightning: This has been known for a while...
29 ikramerica: My guess is A380 will remain at SFO, 748 will go to LAX from FRA. A346 continues from MUC. LAX could only start with a third 748. Block time for LAX
30 incitatus: I was hoping GRU would see the 748 soon.
31 StressedOut: Wilco, Any idea when Denver will see LH 747-8 service? Thanks.
33 wilco737: Summer A380 to SFO, winter 744 to SFO. And MIA the other way around. Good idea No sorry. DEN is 346 currently, so doubt there is a market for so many
34 ual777uk: Makes so much sense to see this route started first. Will any other flights be undertaken to get familiar with the aircraft first, for instance FRA-LH
35 MadameConcorde: Would have been nice to see the 747 with Space Shuttle Discovery on top and the 748i at Dulles on the same day but I guess the timings won't be right
36 Eagleboy: While both aircraft are high capacity, having 2 VLA allows LH to position capcity where it is needed most at a particular time. With their very large
37 GUYAIR707: I was doing some research and it seems the A388 has 536 seats and the 748I will have about 380 seats. Therefore, it makes sense to use both, especial
