Lately I have seen several pictures of Varig aircraft(all in the new livery) that do not display the Star Alliance logo. Does anyone know why this is the case? It seems a bit odd, as all other Star members have the logo on the front of the fuselage.

That's because Varig is totally broke. It cannot afford to paint the logos.   But the 767-300ER I flew last February displayed the Star Alliance logo in the front door. It happened before the recession.
