Can anyone publish a list of all the scheduled flights that KL is using the MD-11 on this summer. I need to fly on one of these before they are retired, and who knows if it's sooner than later!
Thanks.

What happened to MIA? I was bummed not to see them last week.on vaca.

They stopped flying to MIA in the summer I believe. I am happy to have caught the MD-11 MIA-AMS last february, had to fly her before she will be completely gone. An amazing and comfortable ride, get her while you can!
Never ask somebody if he's a pilot. If he is, he will let you know soon enough!

So, just to be clear, they cut out SFO? I'm planning a trip to Austria and want to catch one over there before they're gone forever.

A couple of month ago I flew on the MD11 from SFO, but it seems that they have put the 747 instead for the summer schedule.

I was booked to fly one of them to MIA in November but then, due to fog in AMS my flight from VCE to AMS was cancelled and I was rerouted on LH via MUC and EWR.The flight was good with excellent crew and service and it was my first time to fly on an Airbus 340-600 which is amazing, especially the lavtories and self service bar downstairs, but now I still have to try the MD-11, and the time is running...

ch-aviation shows the following routes served by MD-11s:
* AMS-LAX-AMS operates between 21JUN2012 and 16SEP2012 with MD-11 (3 times weekly)
** AMS-MIA-AMS restart again on 28OCT2012 with MD-11 (5 times weekly)
I'm not sure, if KLM will stop other destinations for LAX and MIA (or I hadn't time to check it )
Myself I had the joy to flow on AMS-MIA-AMS back in Spring 2011 (one of the first flights on that route).

Didn't DL have some 747 flights as well at ATL? (sorry for going off topic)
Glad to see the MD-11 will be in the States this summer...when is the retiring dates for these planes?
Officially 2014-15 I believe, but it is rumored to happen sooner, partly due to the problems AF/KL is going through now. You bet which planes will be stored and scrapped when capacity gets cut I believe the first two are scheduled to leave after this summer.
In other words, if you want to fly an MD-11, do it this year or possibly next. The last MD-11s will probably be used for the VFR Dutch Antilles destinations, making it harder for you guys to connect on as well.
