Quoting seabosdca (Reply 1): The 787-10X is going to be very hard to resist as a regional aircraft for almost any Asian carrier (CX possibly being the exception with its focus on wide seats even on regional).
Even at 8-abreast, the 787-10X would still be a good 333 and 772A replacement for CX for regional and certain Aussie flights.

Quoting kaitak (Thread starter): Shortly after signing up for a new batch of 77Ws, EVA Air is looking further still, with a possible order for 787-10s and 777Xs, saying that the 747-8 is not particularly attractive to the carrier.
These birds are mainly for BR's North America ops and later on cross-strait flights with mainland China.
I am sure they do interested in 77X for a long time, just as a number of other airlines CX, EK and so forth.
