I live in Western Illinois and we're supposed to be getting some strong storms tonight (Saturday) into Sunday as well. Thankfully I'm not working at all this weekend but I hope people don't have their plans disrupted too much by these storms, especially if they roll through Chicago and/or New York.

readytotaxi, to clarify the terminology, a Tornado Warning is issued when a particular storm is imminent to, or currently producing, a tornado. As such, these warnings are generally issued locally and assigned particular counties. While we can expect several today across the midwest, the larger area of concern is either issued a "Watch" and/or "Potentially Dangerous Situation" alert.

Suppose to be rain off and on on Sunday in Minneapolis. Down along the south border of the state they our talking storms, and then around Brainerd/Duluth they were talking snow flurries at one time earlier in the week. Welcome to Minnesota!
Rain was heavy at times up in Minneapolis tonight. Even when driving from home in the dark it was just heavy at different times, but not as windy like earlier when I was working when the wind picked up and then it really came down heavy.
Then the wind died down a bit but still has been rain in which we do need it. Tornado Watch for the Twin Cities until 11pm but most likely it will end sooner if it has not already?
