Just been browsing this evening and noticed that EZY dont have many A320's aircraft still order considering the rate at which they seem to be recieving them at the moment and it led to wonder if anybody knows of any potential new order in the pipeline for this year as with the new A320 NEO order book looking quite healthy I guess that they need to get orders in to ensure they get the aircraft delivered in time.

Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 1): They are evaluating the 737MAX, A320NEO and C Series.
NEO please
Quoting richardw (Reply 2): Would a few A321 for LGW be too much aircraft?
I don't think so. There are many routes out of LGW where you could fill a 321 pretty much all year round (Canaries/Egypt). The A319 is definately too small for the majority of LGW routes. I can't remember the last time I was on a 319 and we had under 140 pax, majority of the time the 319's go out near as full!
There is still apparently 2 of the GB 321's on order. Be interesting to see if they ever materialise next year or are converted into 320's. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Another rumour I heard about them is if they do arrive they'll be used for ORY-Morocco routes.

The problem with EZY at the moment is Stelios, who is the rights holder to the company name and also seems to ave a fundamental problem with EZY management at the moment - he's also very outspoken on the topic of Airbus purchases (against them).
While it would be nice to see an NEO order for delivery starting tail end of this decade, I fear we won't see anything from them until the internal disputes are resolved.

Does anyone have any numbers on how many A320's are based at each EZY base this summer? I know my local airport LTN normally has a pair of them but the other day I did see three A320's sat at the gates first thing in the morning so I was hoping we had one more here for the summer.

737MAX, A320NEO and C Series being evaluated in preparation for an order being placed towards the end of this year. The Stelios debacle shouldn't really come into it because a lot of those aircraft will be replacement airframes for those currently in the fleet. Whilst Stelios' arguments can change like the wind his main gripe has been over expansion. Buying new planes to replace older ones doesn't necassarilly mean expansion.
As for A320's at each base......i'm not quite sure.
Roughly speaking
ORY-A320 only
LGW-Around 21 Rumours LGW could become A320 only in future
LTN - 2
MAN- 4
NCL - 1 Imminently
LPL - 1
EDI - 3
GLA- 1
GVA - A few
Summarizing:
- So far they have ordered 242 aircraft, with some 30 remaining to be delivered up until 2014
- 42 options + 31 purchase rights remaining for A320 series (319/320/321)
For the future, 3 options:
- 737MAX
- 320NEO
- CSeries
Evaluation of the types is currently ongoing and a decision is expected after the summer of 2012.
The presentation doesn't say if they evaluate a fleet mix. Considering their use of A320s from slot-constrained or slot-expensive airports like ORY and LGW, I think a fleet full of CSeries is unlikely. Maybe CS300 and A320/A321 or CS300 and 738/739?

As it stands today 44 A320 in the fleet. 39 G registered and 5 on the Swiss register. Two more are due this week (17th and 19th) on delivery to LGW but unaware if they will be based here.
LGW = 19
LTN = 3
BRS = 1
MAN = 4
LPL = 1
NCL = 0 (1 will be based this summer)
EDI = 2
GLA = 1
SXF = 1
ORY = 7
GVA = 3
BSL = 2
