"He was jailed on suspicion of disorderly conduct..." Suspicion?? Either he acted disorderly, or he didn't, what's there to suspect??
But to be honest, I think this guy is being proactive. Give it a few more years, and this will be the only way to get through security... -- no need for multi-million dollar body scanners of all sorts!!

As far as I know that's not 'indecent exposure'. It was a protest, not done for sexual purposes or to excite an audience.
Why didn't they just let him through in the knowledge he was not a security risk and let him put his clothes back on. Talk about inflaming a situation.
and with that..cabin crew, seats for landing please.

I had it once in Dubai, I had to take everything off. I got so sick that i took everything off except my socks and T-shirt and boxer short, I through everything in the X ray machine and got my clothes back on. But I the future I think it will be normal. Sometimes the security is too much. If they check you 3 times in 100 meters i think they are not doing a great job

He is not guilty of disorderly conduct till the judge/jury say he is. Till then - it is "alleged." So

Quoting Skippy777 (Reply 8): Is he still in jail ? or has he been set free ?
Being here in Portland we are seeing a lot on the news, he is a free man right now, and his one charge was dropped, he is only being charged with something like civil disobedience or something equivalent. There is a perception that the city of Portland allows total nudity, provided you are not in an aroused state or touching yourself in a profane way, this is incorrect, he just found that out. The city of Portland does not allow full nudity in public. The exception to this is the annual naked bike ride through the city streets, the police help the ride go off without a hitch, by simply "looking the other way". Hence my comment "Keep Portland weird" It's part of our sub-culture. Don't think Portlandia is all that far off, which is why it's funny to use Portland residents, because it's true. The recycling skit was spot on in fact.

Wait, didn't we just have a story about a woman taking her clothes off during a security check? It's the new sensation that's sweeping the nation.

Streaking went out in the 70's, but maybe airport stripping is now in.

As far as I know even urinating by the side of the road will get you indecent exposure charges in the States. I don't work in law enforcement so maybe it's a myth... But the US is very puritanical in these aspects.
Quoting Skippy777 (Reply 12): Lets see where that story is, are there also photo's included
If there are, they'll censor out the "naughty" bits.

I saw those photos the press released, they don't show any naughty bits, and after seeing the side view of the guy, I don't think anyone would really want to view them. The guy himself admits "It's not very flattering"

Quoting Skippy777 (Reply 17): @rwa380 thanks for that information, wonder when the Hooters Girls will do this at the airport
Your welcome, I'd pay to see the Hooters girls protesting this way. The guy is only being charged with public indecency.
