The first two VS A340-600's will be delivered to VS 10 months from now. These two aircraft are already a way down the production numbers so I would like to know if anyone has the roll out dates ??
383 G-VSHY Madam Butterfly
391 G-VMEG Mystic Maiden
For the record line number 419 (B-HLP A333 of CX was delivered last saturday).
I can't wait to see these fantastic planes in service.

Does anyone know what is being used for the tail skid during these tests? I know Boeing uses a large piece of oak for thier Vmu tests. But wood doesn't spark like that!!!!! Surely they wouldn't use the actual tail skid on the aircraft, would they?

The second and third A340-600's which are for VS in 2003 will be part of the test programme. Thats why they will not be delivered till after some of the later aircraft.
As for the tail skid, maybe AI is testing the real damage you get when you do a tail strike !!!!!, not the damage to a piece of wood !!
