What ever happened to the flashing/blinking approach lights along the Belt Parkway leading to 13L? I hadn't really thought about it in a while, but it seems like they are no longer in use. Or am I wrong and just oblivious to it?

They're on all the time...they just put an environmental "blinder" on them so you can not see them from the ground.

Used to be kinda cool and kinda spooky at night...from a kids perspective

Ahh that explains it. Do you know when they did this? Sometimes I think every aspect of aviation is less fun than it once was

Not recently - they've been that way for several years at least.

Yeah, I just thought about it the other day and realized I hadn't seen it in a few years...

Funny, last night I was driving by the belt and they were on...and even with the blinders, I realized they are still quite visible!
