I live near the former Mather AFB in the Sacramento, CA area. For the last year now, there has been this boeing 727 for Kingfisher Airlines parked out here for months at a time. It has left for awhile on two ocassions that I know of. It is not listed as an aircraft for the airline. All I see in their roster are Airbus planes. Does anyone know anything and have they filed bankruptcy in India?

Nice to see someone else from the area. I work within sight of that plane and get to see it every day. From what I can gather, it used to be used by VJ as his personal aircraft, but I was told last month that he now has an A319CJ, so this one doesn't get used much anymore. Even before that, it used to ferry back and forth here from Oakland, in a similar way to the 747s we used to get from Travis (which now go to McClellan), so my suspicion is that our parking fees are lower than OAK so we get to see it if it is going to sit around for a while.

Wow, thanks for the info. I live out here and work in eyesight of it too. AN associate of mine have been wondering why its parked out here. He wondered if it was being hid from creditors due to airline going bankrupt.

The airline may be going bankrupt but the United Breweries is doing quite well, its sells "Kingfisher" beer thus the name fort he airline. It seems MR. Mallya is not throwing good money after bad.
