Sun Country announced on their Facebook page that they will be serving Tampa starting in December. It looks like it will be only from MSP at this point, but wouldn't be surprised if they added it seasonally in Lansing to be the west Florida getaway instead of RSW in addition to MCO assuming they bring back the Florida service to LAN for the winter

It looks like the Schedule is

SY 367
Dept. MSP - 4:00 PM
Arr. MSP - 8:00 PM

SY 364
Dept. TPA - 11:55 AM
Arr. MSP - 02:05 PM

Operates: Thur/Sat/Sun/Mon

As of right now it begins Dec. 20th and ends April 7,2013

Also, look out for a new city in the next couple of days

Is it just me or was it not so long ago that SY was flying to TPA? Maybe perhaps it was a charter type of service, but I faintly remember Sun Country listed as an airline their.

Anyways good news for both TPA and SY, gives DL a little bit of competition and hopefully the flight does well to merit year round service eventually.

Huatalco is also coming in seasonally starting in December -- from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

How much market share would you expect SY to obtain in MSP-TPA going against DL?

They're not competing for market share.

Can you explain? If they aren't "competing", how much of MSP-TPA pax share would they anticipate ?

Enough to profitability fly the service.

As with many SY tickets, most will likely be bundled as part of a tour package.
