Today, saturday may 12, around 17:45 AF 747-428, F-GITF landed at runway 36R. Has somebody any idea what brings this a/c to Amsterdam?

Yup, maintenance, just like F-GITD which received some modifications and a new interior last month

Well, not really "maintenance".

Air France will finally keep 7 B744 PAX in service until 2018 and so has decided last year to revamp completely the interior.

F-GITD went first to AMS during 9 weeks for this complete renovation with the installation of new seats in Y and J, PTVs in all classes with the last brand new Panasonic IFA AVOD system, etc ... etc ...
TD went back to service on May 12 on CDG-MIA.

F-GITF is in AMS for the same reason until mid-june. F-GITE & F-GEXB will follow until Nov. 2012.

A bit off topic maybe, but I always wondered why AF kept the F-GEXB (an ex UTA 747) in service, while they disposed their own 428 variants.
