Anyway, I'm not a fan of the typeface chosen for the slogan or the stark white tail section. However, I don't dislike the overall appearance.

Yellow and white. How interesting! If you omit the red/white/blue current UJ British Airways tail logo it would do good as the Pope's flight in the Vatican flag colours. Only need to add the Papal Crest on the tail instead.

As bizarre as it looks I think the first design is more appropriate for the 2012 London Olympics.

Looks better than the previous "dove" livery, but why are only the A319s being done? Or is it that they're smaller, so cost less to paint?

Isn't that the plane that will collect the torch/flame from Athens and transport it down to RNAS Culdrose ?

The gold/yellow/orange being symbolic of the flame i suppose.

Yes. Its a one off for the flame delivery.

All other Olympic planes will be doves, including 3 BMI A319.

I like it. A lot.

And the tail doesn't bother me, although I guess it would look good in a two-tone yellow/orange scheme a la pigeon.

Also, I like the subtle "To Fly To Serve".

I think the colour is a bit odd but overall the idea is sound. It is still a BA aircraft just with a partial special livery.

Not sure if I can come up with another way of saying it, but I prefer this to the pigeon too (saw a pigeon livery A319 at LHR this morning and even in the flesh, in sunshine, it didn't inspire me)

Ahhh now that's much better. I actually shot G-EUOH last week and it actually looks really good in real life, as opposed to some of the photos on here. G-EUPC looks pretty awesome IMHO and much more in the spirit of the Olympics.

Also, has the "To Fly, To Serve" crest, first time seen on the Minibus.

I assume you mean that only this aircraft will have this livery or is it only painted for the flame delivery alone after which it will be repainted in standard BA colors?

Are not these Olympic liveries being rolled out a little late?

Shouldn't they have been around earlier in the year? The Olympics are only a few short weeks away, they are not going to have much of a life, I think.

25 babybus : Not being funny but is there really any need for this special livery? It's not like it enhances the games or is particularly inspiring to look at. It'
26 atalanta89 : i don't like it at all. I prefer the first one.
27 ba9216c : I was able to see G-EUPC up close and personal. I do like the livery and it's great of BA to do such unique paint schemes which will be remembered for
28 eljonno : I like this livery. It is infinitely better than the Dove livery and I'm looking forward to seeing it at Culdrose on Friday (hoping to see the action
29 qf002 : I really like this! 5 of these, one in each of the Olympic colours, would have been vastly better than the 'doves'... Perhaps with a slightly bigger O
30 iain2012 : Looks terrible !! Sorry BA - Its worse then the "dove" livery and that in itself was awful !!
31 abrown532 : Do you think they will do any bigger aircraft? Like a 747/777? I hope so!
32 Post contains images gabrielchew : This is a lot better than the Dove livery. I hope they paint a few more planes with something interesting on. IIRC Air China had 4 shorthual aircraft
33 rutankrd : What do you want ? Its a symbolic flame trailing as it would from the torch and from a normal viewing distance looks pretty damn effective.
34 Post contains images virginblue4 : Wow! I love it! It's realy nice! Jordan
35 N766UA : Looks like the jet flew into a giant roll of yellow cellophane and it's now wrapped around the front 2/3rds of the airplane.
36 Post contains images jetblast : As noted this aircraft is wearing the Coat of Arms, and I also noted that the pattern of the 'golden' flame section somewhat resembles our uniform tie
37 laca773 : Seeing this, oh my ! I actually like the doves scheme. This was done very badly. They did this because of the gold medals? Please give me a break. Thi
38 jwhite9185 : Looks ok to me - I like it more than the dove.
39 Post contains links Mike909 : How an earth do BA keep thinking of these disastrous special liveries? Brings no pride to Britain to have the flag carrier coming up with these bizarr
40 Bongodog1964 : Despite being a middle aged stick in the mud, I like the latest BA Olympic offering, the ANZ plane you like though is horrible.
41 jetblast : If you have read any of the other posts you would have noticed that this is the airplane that will be carrying the Olympic Flame to the UK, and that
42 Post contains images speedbird217 : It's definitely better than the dove. Even though it looks like somebody dipped this plane nose-first into a giant bucket of egg yolk...
43 EGSUcrew : I do like this livery but I think BA have a missed a trick, really. Their A/C could've been seen all around Europe (or potentially the world) to be "f
44 SKGSJULAX : Who designed this stuff? It's awful!
45 Post contains images braybuddy : I like it! It's interesting and unusual.
46 HBGDS : Talk about a roll in English grass... Well, getting noticed is what counts, I guess.
47 Post contains links ba9216c : The design is an Olympic thing. Check this image of the BMW car. http://www.london24.com/polopoly_fs/...tives/landscape_490/1367203786.jpg
48 kdhurst380 : It has the Olympic logo, it carries the BA crest, it's eye catching in a good way. Why was that so difficult to do for G-EUOH, or the flying fish?
49 Post contains images tymnbalewne : This is better than the Dove but not spectacular. It's challenging to read (in the pic anyway) the "Our Moment to Shine" tag. Here's what I'd like to
50 sq_ek_freak : I actually quite like it, very different from the rather reserved first Olympic livery. Here's hoping the third and last one will be spectacular? Does
51 FlyCaledonian : Hopefully a sign that it's finallt going to appear fleet wide.
52 garpd : Now THAT is more like it!
53 skipness1E : Has anyone who hated this seen it in real life? I thought it looked awful on the laptop however the level of detail up close is actually remarkable.
54 DLSLC : My question is, why are they not putting these liveries on their long haul fleet/international aircraft, and only on their domestic aircraft? It would
55 southwest737500 : I really like the new and the dove one, I like that they have the BAtail to,
56 gingersnap : Like the rest of the mentality in this country....it's cheaper.
57 laca773 : This is interesting. Much better than this frugal looking mess they came up with for this A319. Actually, I did, jetblast. To me, it resembles nothin
58 AirPacific747 : I think the livery looks unbalanced since the entire tail section is still white.. they should have painted the entire aircraft in gold colours.
59 booforty : I like it, much better than the Dove livery
60 Mika : Whatever stands out i'd say...but the font used for "Our time to shine" looks cheap and childish i think. And barely visible through the yellow. Which
61 VV701 : I think you will find they will remain in service for 12 months. Yup. There's an hour long BBC1 TV show covering the arrival of the flame In this air
62 Bongodog1964 : I'm sure its all down to cost, apart from the two 318's the 319's are the smallest and thus the least expensive planes in the fleet to paint, additio
63 AirbusA6 : Thanks, the car and the plane match up very well, so it's clearly something agreed by the Olympic organizers rather than just a BA invention
64 Lofty : Having done the LOCOG induction the paint fit with-in the LOCOG design principles of line extended from the Logo you will see this all over the place.
65 Post contains images trent1000 : Ummm Let's see. BA + BMI = BMA?? Yes! British Mustard Airways!
66 Post contains images n729pa : .......looks like they've taken delivery of the left over paint from Iberia's Madrid maintenance base, and didn't know what to do with it
67 SKGSJULAX : LOL!!! This is just hilarious...
68 abrown532 : Does anyone have any information on whether it will be painted on a larger aircraft?
69 VV701 : This specific livery will only be carried by the 319 carrying the Olympic Flame from Greece to the UK tomorrow (Friday 18 May).
70 Post contains links VV701 : Just have had a view of the Official Olympic Torch Relay Pin. Any similarity is obviously not coincidental: http://shop.london2012.com/London-20...re
