I know WN is going like gangbusters at GSP. We consistently had 40+% month-over-month increases in overall pax numbers in the first 12 months of service, and for March this year, we were STILL up double-digits. It would be interesting to know if the pax numbers/yields out of CHS or GSP will warrant any new destinations or additional frequencies (a new GSP-HOU please!!!)

Finally made it to an airline mecca!

Well, I suppose it's good that the March numbers are still showing double digit gains because the first eleven months have shown a rather anemic performance from a load perspective.

GSP-BNA/BWI/MCO all ran load factors lower than 70% with HOU/MDW flying in the upper 70% range. CHS saw much stronger loads to BNA/BWI and similar loads for HOU/MDW.

The GSP-HOU flight I was on a couple months ago was completely full, and I've been in the concourse and overheard WN gate agents ask for volunteers due to overbooking on the HOU flight other times.

I have seen the same thing on the MCO flights. Recently flew a full 735 down to MCO and a nearly full 73G back. I've also been noticing that WN isn't offering the really low ding fares they originally were. I would think they would be trying to fill the flights with lower fares if things weren't working so well.

Could the MCO loads be that G4 is taking some of those passengers? Charleston also has the benefit of not having a large hubbed airport an hour away.

I would love to see WN add a Denver flight to the mix, but I doubt that one is in the cards any time soon.

One-man focus groups don't equate to real statistics. Even the worst performing flights sell out sometimes.

You do have other airlines. If everyone brought their fares down, everyone is carrying additional passengers.

Not necessarily. It's all about maximizing revenue.

G4 was there first so WN is the one not "taking" enough passengers.

Still, positive trends are positive trends. I'm seeing the glass as (more than) half-full here. Sorry if that peeves you.

I don't care either way, I'm 3 states away. However, you said they were going gangbusters with little or no evidence to support your claim of WN's performance there.

I love how this thread has nearly NOTHING to do with CHS and only GSP. LOL

I flew there and back, via Houston, a couple of weeks back. Both planes had not one empty seat. Tiny point of data.

...three miles from BRONS, clear for the ILS one five approach...

WN Load Factors at CHS:

2011 3 81.24
2011 4 87.24
2011 5 86.31
2011 6 83.46
2011 7 84.61
2011 8 75.66
2011 9 73.96
2011 10 83.23
2011 11 73.06
2011 12 66.11
2011 AVG 79.46

2012 1 51.35
2012 AVG 51.35

79.46 for 2011 isn't bad, January looks like it was kind of rough.
