Incident happened at around 14:00. Pilot had announced problems prior to landing (possibly smoke in cockpit). Upon landing, ATR 72 veered off runway and smoke was emerging. Undercarriage possibly collapsed.
edit: Air Dolomiti Flight 1913 VCE-MUC, scheduled arrival at 14:20, shows as cancelled now, so this seems to be one involved.
edit: Southern runway at MUC is closed, therefore many flights are delayed by now.

Regardless of the odds, what do you think caused the runway excursion to the left side? Looks pretty well controlled just prior to touchdown. Still smoke in the cockpit/cabin? Seems to be landing okay. A little too much reverse thrust on the left engine after touchdown? Possibly. Hydraulic problems? Quite possibly, especially with smoke inside the cabin. Guess we should wait for the investigation to take place.
Is it already known whether the aircraft can/will be repaired, or will it be written off?
The damage doesn't appear substantial enough to cause a write-off, especially on such a popular airframe.
However, I suspect the repairs will take a while.
Please note that the following is only speculation, but to me it seems like EN now has a bit of an aircraft shortage and there's some re-shuffling going on.
They recently sent an EMB-195 (or 190?) to TRS (first time I hear about that bird being used on the route) and the MUC-TRS flight I'm going to take in a few hours has even been changed from an EN ATR 72 to a LH Cityline CRJ700.

Quoting PHX787 (Reply 17): Here in the states, if someone said what you just said, they would give you the weirdest look possible. The CRJ- especially for a tall fellow like me - is definitely NOT a trip to the beach.
I know It's just that I don't fly very frequently and the CRJ has managed to escape me until now.
