Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone knows why there are 2 B744 Japanese Air Force frames at hr today. It's lovely to see them here, but it's a rarity ??
Many thanks Tony

There was a lot of high-end stuff in when I flew out of Heathrow on Friday:
2 x Japan 747
Brunei 747
Bahrain 747
Qatar A340

Ahh....of course, Jubilee stuff....it's nice to see some different birds there. I do see the Royal Oman aircraft there sometimes. It's madness that he has a "WEATHER" plane that flies in front of him just in case they hit bad turbulence haha Excellent.
Thanks
Tony

Quoting scbriml (Reply 2):
Brunei 747
Bahrain 747
Qatar A340

Which from recent indications might be replaced with its successor.....wonder if they would form a 748i Club?   To think they were once subjects of the celebrant who goes on merrily in this other four-holer.....

The 2 744 are from the Japan Self Defense Force, they fly all Government VIP's. I wish the UK had such a VIP plane.

I'm always surprised where all these VIP flights get their slots from. There's a handful of them everyday and much more than that during events of note.

I think that they don't use slots they just comes there and the rest of the traffic gives them the room they need.

With these two aircraft here, I guess the PM will have to settle for the G4 for the NATO summit
