Trondheim - Madrid - Trondheim

Pullmantur is to exchange passengers from the cruiseship Empress. The cruiseship will go between Copenhagen and Trondheim 3 - 4 times in the period may - june. In other words there will be more upcomming jumboes at TRD .

Here is a link to the Empress web page:

http://www.about2cruise.co.uk/ship-169/pullmantur-empress.html

Note that like the 744s at TRD it is operated by Pullmantur.

The Empress has a maximum capacity of around 1,850 passengers and operates with a crew of more than 600. So three 744s is modest if all passengers are originating in Spain.

They fly only charter services, mainly for cruises. It's usual find it at Madrid-Barajas' tarmac for days. ATH, CPH, HEL and CUN are among the leading destination out of Madrid. Of course, all 4 aircraft are used 747-400

Add BLQ to the list for summer cruises in the adriatic sea.
3x 744 plus another odd M80 every two weeks last summer; definitely a nice sight!

Any ideas for a signature?

Pullmantur Air, as mentioned previously, fly predominantly for Pullmantur Cruises. They do also do some flying for cruise lines outside the Royal Caribbean group.....much of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines ex UK fly-cruise passengers will be on a Pullmantur 744 this year.

As to seasons....the ships simply sail where the season is; that's why you'll see lots of US/Caribbean to Europe transatlantic voyages in March/April and vv end September through to early November.

A total of 3800 passengers exchanged cruiseship and airplane and vice versa in this operation. The turnaround was a sucess and the largest operation of it's kind to date in Norway.

There is another 3 such turnarounds in the comming weeks.

They also do Ad-Hoc charters for Football tournaments etc and also Hajj flights for Garuda.
