Good Evening to everyone, this is something that I wanted to start out of my own curiosity pertaining to the aviation world going back in time again. I have done research on the subject but haven't been able to find much.
I am of direct Argentine descent and always fly between MIA and EZE on AA and recently have been wondering what the history of AA at EZE is. When did AA first start service to Ezeiza, how frequently and with what aircraft, when did the service expansion to JFK and DFW take place, were routes subsequently acquired from Panam and Eastern? How has Americans service changed over time and any other interesting facts relating to the past.
At the moment EZE is (correct me if Im wrong) one of AA's strongest markets with a high premium load factor creating profitable flights for AA, what will be in AA's future in Argentina, will an MIA-COR service ever be a reality? Will the day flight between MIA and EZE become permanent? Does anyone speculate that the 777-300ERs or 787s will be flying there in the future?

I'm not an AA historian but I beleve AA aquired EAL's routes out of MIA which included EZE- el resto es historia.
I'm sure EZE is very profitable for AA, the current AR is not a very strong carrier so AA makes a killing on it's routes to the US. We keep on hearing COR is on the very near future a destination for AA but as you can see nothing has come to fruition. When I flew DFW - EZE I recall a great deal of passengers connecting on to COR.

AA EZE routes date back to EA's demise. EA in turn had taken them over from BN when it collapsed in 1982. I believe BN had taken them over from Panagra back in the 50s or early 60s. Currently there are some AA FAs that are still flying and who started with BN way back when.

The DFW-EZE route for AA dates to Nov. 1, 2003, when it was launched with a 767-300 three times weekly. At various times since it's had the 772 interspersed on the route. I think there's a good chance route will go 772 for good once the refit over to a 2-class cabin is completed.
As far as the 77W goes, there's a great chance you'll see that on MIA-EZE.

If my memory is correct July 1 ,1990 was the day AA took over the MIA opertation from Eastern. The first Miami to EZE flights were by 767-200ER with a Miami - EZE- SCL routing daily. Another 762ER took off from Miami for GRU and RIO the same day. Eventually all for od the deep Latin cities became nonstop.

Both Panagra and Braniff served EZE from about 1950 when Braniff obtained EZE rights (Panagra had been serving EZE since 1930 or so). Braniff merged with Panagra in 1967.
