Onboard Delta's 7-Minute LGA-EWR Rangers FanFlight

I had the chance to join Delta's 7-minute, 17 mile flight from LaGuardia to Newark this past Saturday.

It was pretty awesome for my avgeek self, and the non-avgeek Rangers fans seemed to enjoy it a lot, too.

As a marketing stunt, I'd say it was very successful, despite a number of folks complaining about the flight's carbon footprint.

Passengers on the flight actually complained? Take a bus or train then..... sheesh.

Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

Anyone complaining about carbon footprint of a short promo flight needs to just get their priorities/hypocrisy straight...

Cool, good for you, what a great experience, take off and landing is the fun part anyway.

How much did this cost? Was it just the oneway or a round trip opportunity? If one-way, I'm guessing a bus back?

Given just about any topic, there will always be someone who complains about anything possible. Now these are not necessarily those who would complain if standing in front of you, but those who complain for the sake of complaining online who are the loudest noise makers in the world.

I thought about going for this along with tickets to the game (I ended up getting neither), but I suspect I would have been a little out of place, as I am a Devils fan.

It was free for anyone who had a ticket to the game. Fly one way, bus from Newark to the arena, then bus back to LGA.

JetBlue did a similar thing out here when the 405 was shut down and ran a round trip flight from LGB-BUR. If I remember correctly, they priced it at $4.05 each way. Great marketing ploy for both of them.
