Thought I made a wrong turn and traveled back in time. Sitting outside of the ex-Delta maintenance hangar now operated by Pemco was a fully painted 1960's to 1970's United mainliner color scheme. This was on an A320 but was across the airfield and was unable to get the registration. Any information on the aircraft and when it will be in service? This was about the best retro to-date that I have seen to include giving me goose bumps!

It's been in service for quite some time now. At least a few years I'm thinking?

Does PEMCO at TPA do A320 checks for United? Two weeks is a long time.

I wonder if the "Friendship" will emerge with the larger overhead bin modification that is supposed to happen for the entire A319-A320 fleet.

I know a bit off topic, but what happened to Friendship 1? I know UA got rid of thed 747sp's long ago, but I have a personal photo taken at SFO of this aircraft, and wanted to board the flight going to HKG that day. How many special jets like these have UA done over the years? What airline could be the biggest operator of special livery jets at one time? Western Pacific? Or maybe F9 with their individual animal named jets? Maybe BN with all their different color combinations plus the 2 Calder jets.

Next Flights: AS PDX-SEA-KOA on DH4/738 in F, HA KOA-OGG on 717 in Y, AS OGG-PDX on 738 in F

Isn't this the aircraft that was flying IAD-CUN and diverted to TPA for cabin order? That was a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine called me a few weeks back from ATL & said it was about to head to TPA in the middle of the night. Then about 7-8 days ago, I was over at around the north PEMCO hangar & saw it. I actually did not know they did A320 work here. Thought it was just 757/767/747/777

This aircraft is likely the first Airbus to undergo the interior refreshing modification - larger overhead bins and maybe a few other small nuances.

I was at TPA last Friday for the Edelweiss flight, and I thought I saw this bird at PEMCO. It was inside the old Delta hangar with just the tail visible. Any idea on how much longer it will be there? I have to head back to TPA on Wednesday.

PEMCO at TPA has done A320's for a while. I've seen plenty of JB birds over there.
