How To Find Out Information About Incidents?

Hi guys,

I was on a Fokker 100 Swiss (operated by Contactair) flight from zurich to warsaw today and 20min after the takeoff the pilot said we had to return to zurich immediately because the anti ice system had failed, however I doubt that was the whole story as the engine ( which was right next to my head in row 22) was working very erratically, speeding up to full power then slowing down to idle every 1-2min and then speeding up again.

We landed safely after a very quick decent with full flaps that made us slow down as if the handbrake was on in the air and landed pretty hard. I think there was more to it than just a anti ice system failure but the pilot gave us very little information.

It might have been nothing serious but it felt like more than a little technical problem and I would just like to read somewhere what actually happened, the pilot must have filed a incident report after a flight and I am just curious if these can be found somewhere? Of course I wont be up yet but just wanted to find out if its actually possible to find those things.

The aircraft involved was D-AFKC.

Just curious if that was the whole story, on a side note the A320 I was put on 2 hs later had to abort its takeoff because the weather radar failed...lol what day.

Aviation Herald should be the 1st port of call but it's not listed.

Greetings from airline mechanic/engineer land.
It most likely WAS the whole story; the Fokker birds are renoun for deice failures (100% of the air turn backs that I've had to endure were due to F100 engine anti ice valve failures).
If the engine was truly behaving erratically, it would either have shut itself down, or been shut down manually. You don't leave an erratic engine running, it's too dangerous.
Regarding the landing, aircraft land with full flaps all day long- it's up to the pilot whether he wants to use flaps 40 or 30 (in the case of a 737). There are valid reasons for doing either setting.

Thnx for the reply AA737, I never like the Fokker birds, always had loads of delays with them due to technical difficulties, I know its normal for them to land with full flaps, it was just weird how quickly he was deploying them considering how fast we were descending, and the erratic throttle movements were probs made by the pilot just felt really strange, anyways I was predicting that its something common on the Fokker

Just two failures on two different aircraft in the space of 3hours made me post my concerns   ill just try to avoid that joke of a plane in the future caused me enough trouble already!!!
