Whoops! Could be a fair few diversions tonight!

Short Haul/Domestic operators have been warned to carry enough fuel for the return leg. But it will be interesting to see how EK and EY cope this evening. Presumaby they could just operate to BHX instead or maybe arrive as normal and then pit stop at EMA or somewhere on their way out? When the new fuel arrives it needs to 'settle' for two hours before being used.

Airport has now run out of fuel, supplies expected again at midnight. Looking at departures the main problems are going to be EK and EY due out at 21:00 & 21:05, BG's is via LHR so that should be ok. The only other flight is FR's to Tenerife, not sure if that can carry over 4 hour's fuel of fuel into MAN on their B738's or not so may need to divert to LPL.

Today airline fuel supply companies operating at Manchester Airport experienced an interruption to their supply of aviation fuel from the Essar refinery.

The refinery has confirmed that fuel supply stocks to Manchester Airport are now being replenished and will be restored by tomorrow morning (Thursday 7th June).

Disruption has been kept at a minimum and so far no flights have been cancelled or diverted.

EK's website is saying EK20 is ontime departing and on time into DXB too, well slightly early actually. If they have plans to divert they are not telling us!

According to a local TV report, once fuel starts pumping it arrives at the airport 30mins later, it then takes another 20mins to reach different parts of the terminals and refuel aircraft.

MAN is a bit different to other airports as it's directly connected to the refinery by a pipeline. Great for keeping going if road transport is disrupted but not good if there's an issue with the pumps!

I wonder if they kept fuel back for EK and EY as they'd have an issue with there being no fuel?

That is the least of your worries to be fair. Spending 6 hours + at Heathrow trying to get through immigration would be my first concern
