N665US, the seventh completed modification is back in service. Flightaware shows DL9952 out of Paya Lebar on 7Jun, enroute to NRT.
N668US and N674US are in mods as of 05/22 and should be due out around the 1st wk of July, providing no other work to be done. At that time 9 of 16 will be complete. I see no other going in to replace the aircraft leaving mods at present, maybe due to summer sked needs.

Quoting PHX787 (Reply 1): Do all of these mods have the upgraded IFE system? Sorry if I missed this previously.
Yes, they all have the updated IFE.

DL has set a very strict capex and right now the priority and most of the mod money is going towards the 747 to finish them up as soon as possible. When the 747 fleet is done look for the 767mod work to increase significantly. 747 should be done by the end of the summer, at that time the seasonal cuts will come in on tatl and that will give the 767 fleet plenty of slack to have multiple planes out for mods while keeping up with the winter schedule. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but I believe DL wants to be done with all the mod work in middle of next year so that they can put the allocated capex money towards the 739er deliveries that start at the end of next year.

That is correct. DL is being very conservative with where they invest in the business. The plan was 2011-mid 2013 to complete widebody mods, then mid-2013-2016 is focused on the narrowbody fleet renewal.
The plan was to get the 744s done by Q3 2012. Then 767 mods kick into high-gear over Winter 2012-13 when the fleet utilization is lighter. The bulk of 767 mods will supposedly be done by Summer 2013.

Quoting questions (Reply 6): What's the plan to upgrade the A330s? What will be done? Which seats in BE? Timing?
The A330 mods should begin next year. BusinessElite seats will be the Weber Cirrus, while Y seats will be the B/E Aerospace Pinnacle.

Where else will they fly the 744s once the mods are complete? They have been quite lightly utilized of late with 1 aircraft having been stored and 1 or 2 as I understand have been used for charters.

Quoting timf (Reply 11): The 767 mods are being done in HKG, while the 744 mods are being done at QPG.
Keep in mind that the 767 mods are more extensive, since the bins and ceiling panels are being replaced.

They seem to be doing the mods pretty quick now. It has only been what, two months since the first entered service? Good to hear though. The guys I work with avoided the 74's like the plague because of the lack of IFE and poor seats in coach.

Quoting timf (Reply 15): QPG is about 5 miles west of SIN.
Not to hijack this thread, but what's the area called to the immediate east of Changi called and used for? I looked on an aerial photo and it looks like there isn't any connection to SIN

I believe that QPG is west of Changi. It used to be the civilian airport before Changi was built, and serves as the home of the Singapore AF as well as ST Aerospace where the mods take place. AF One/US Military uses Paya Lebar, rather than Changi.

Yes- QPG is west of SIN - it's actually pretty central in Singapore. It is now military, and there are plenty of training flights that I can see from my office.
