Ukrainian operated LET 410 crashed near Kiev killing 5 people and injuring 13.
Pilots tried to make emergency landing near the town of Borodianka because of very strong winds and storm moving over.

A lot of bad weather aound there at the time, apparently.
Jake Humphrey (A UK Anchorman covering Euro 2012) tweeted 4 hours earlier: "Landed, sadly 400k from where we were expected to be! I can safely say our aborted landing in Kiev is my scariest moment on a plane".
And just 20 mins ago: "So happy we're on the ground and safe now here in Kiev, alarming to see reports of a plane that wasn't so lucky. Wasn't nice up there".
The weather doesn't appear to have "crept up" on anyone so if the Let 410 was a SkyDiving plane, really no excuse for it to be up there!

It was apparently UR-SKD, a Let-410 operated by the Skydiving Club at Borodyanka Airfield near Kiev. Very friendly people there. I went on a sightseeing flight on this bird in 2010. Sad news indeed!

This aircraft was part of an Air Events day in Kiev in spring 2010, we flew on a Mi-8 (twice, in my case), An-24, Yak-40 biz jet (twice, in my case), and this Let-410. It was an unforgettable day out, and I am very sad to think this machine has crashed with loss of life. Plyspotter and Eirik off a.net were there too and I am sure they join me in wishing a speedy recovery to the survivors, and condolences to the families of those who were lost. RIP.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

Quite, this is very sad news. I photographed it extensively, awful to think it is no more and that five people lost their lives inside.
RIP and best wishes to the survivors and their families.
