This is looking far ahead, but as time is coming closer, Will we see a -800 for SDF around the Kentucky Derby? I know that other airlines like UA operated a 757-300 on SDF-IAD that day. I understand that WN has alot of flights but the -800 would really help there.

Quoting mikesairways (Reply 3): Does anyone know if one will make an appearance in SJC anytime soon
SJC is to get scheduled -800 service somewhere around AUG 11.

WAY too far ahead. That's May of 2013. It's possible that they'd bring an -800 in for extra lift since they tend to add flights to SDF during that time. But to say for sure is impossible.

Quoting avi8 (Reply 7): How many 737-800's does WN have as of this month?
15 as of today. 17 on Saturday.
Quoting avi8 (Reply 7): Snce they deffered some orders, how many are they receivingin total?
Including deferrals, WN will have 33 in 2012, 20 in 2013, 24 in 2014 which totals 77 by 2014. Then, 15 in 2017 and 15 in 2018. By 2018, that's 107 frames.

There is one still showing on order on www.planespotters.net it shows two 737-700's added Jun 13 and 14 but those were former FL birds. I think it is taking longer to convert the FL birds to WN than was anticipated.

How much longer does WN allow for loading the 800's
Also I think I flew on one of the new interiors on a 700 a few days ago Oak to MCI.I notice the webbed back of seat pouches. How does WN plan for selling seats on these ac while there are relatively few of them in the fleet?
Do they actually sell 6 seats extra and know where they will be deployed far enough in advance or does they still sell only 137 seats in advance and take any walk ups if they are sure of the configuration.

They're given a minimum of a 45 min turn which is either zero or 10 additional minutes, based on current -700 turn times. If the flight is early then that helps out tremendously.
