I recently flew into & out of CGN(Cologne/Bonn) & I hope that somebody will be able to sort out my query!
I noticed on arrival a stored Libyan Airlines CRJ near the terminal which I read as 5A LAA, but when we departed 4 days later it had been moved towards the far end of the cargo ramp.
The problem is there are different photo's & information for the identity of the aircraft stored here! The Aviation Friends Cologne/Bonn website http://www.aviation-friends-cologne.de/ has it down as 5A LAB,but their photo of it taken on 01/04/12 shows 5A LAD stored minus engines! But a photo on another aviation photo database site(don't know it I can mention it on here so I wont!)taken on 25/05/12 shows 5A LAB stored minus its front door & rear elevators! So does anybody know if it is LAB,LAD or if both are stored here?
I do hope somebody can correctly tie up this aircraft for me & thanks in advance for any information!

I arrived at CGN on Friday and looked out for the Libyan Airlines CRJs. There was one stored remote from the airport buildings along with an Arik Air CRJ - couldn't get their regs (wrong side of aircraft), but as we taxied around the rear of the cargo building, there were two other Arik Air CRJs (5N-JED & JEC), plus Libyan 5A-LAB undergoing engine maintenance.
So, only partially answering your question, I'm afraid!

RebelDJ,thanks for your reply. So just to clarify you saw 2 Libyan CRJ's 5A-LAB plus one other?
I think I can help you out with the reg of your other Arik Air CRJ. When we flew back we saw one Arik 5N-JEB,so this is probably your unidentified one!

Quoting Tobias2702 (Reply 4): I think the other one is 5A-LAL. It is stored at CGN since early 2011 as it was not taken up by Libyan Airlines upon delivery.
The Aviation friends cologne/Bonn website http://www.aviation-friends-cologne.de/ before it was re-done showed a photo of 5A-LAD stored with a photo dated April 2012 & Scramble's website show's a log for 1st June 2012 with 5A-LAA & 5A-LAB!
So I'm still confused as to the 2nd CRJ!

Quoting Tobias2702 (Reply 4): So, does this mean that 5A-LAB is only visiting CGN for maintenance, otherwise being in scheduled revenue service with the airline?
That's what it looked like, it was at the LH CityLine maintenence facility, it was in full Libyan Arab livery, the engine cowls were open, and at least one engine was running. I have no "inside" information - I was in an arriving aircraft and just happenend to be sat on the correct side of the aircraft.
