I was at a baseball game tonight in Syracuse and saw at least 4 planes take off which i could tell were diversions and 2 of them looked like 738's and at leads one 752. I couldn't find any info on flightaware and was wondering what those planes might be and if any other cities had diversions today

Bad weather in the Northeast, coupled with ATC issues due to a fire in an FAA facility. Go back to FlightAware homepage and check the current lead article. Apparently it's been a messy day.

If I can remember correctly, Delta had 3 737's land at BWI this afternoon within 20 or so minutes of each other. I could be wrong, but was surprised to see that many. BWI ATC seemed to handle it well even though there seemed to be a parking lot of planes sitting on the de-icing ramp with engines shut down.

EDIT: The groundstops in New York didn't help either...

At RDU we saw a BA 747 that I believe was headed to MIA. Have not seen a 747 there since another BA came in almost 3 years ago AFAIK. Also, multiple DL and WN birds (maybe some others as well.) Pics up after some sleep...it's 4am and I'm just getting home.

Tonight I flew two legs on Delta, both were late because they still hadn't recovered from yesterday's storms.
