I can't give you exact numbers, but when I am at heatrow or gatwick I have seen only a small number with the new union jack flag. I would say that a large portion, definetly a majority of the fleet is in the world colors, but there are still a few in the old colors. Remeber this is not fact, only what I see at the airport when I am flying. I know all the new plans are being delivered with the new union jack colors so the number of those planes will grow quickly.

I've been told the world colours are staying, indeed. The rest of the fleet is getting the new Union Jack livery as time goes by, and in the end it would be about 50/50. That is to say about half the fleet would have the new livery.
Again, this is from hear-say, but it's the best I can do on this topic. Hope it helped.

To the best of my knowledge:
-All new planes will be delivered with the new Union Jack colors.
-Aircraft with the current World colors will not be repainted until they go into D-check and their paint is stripped anyway.
-Old black and red stripe colors will be repainted into the new Union Jack colors as time goes on. Some of these aircraft will be retired before that. Does BA still have those old DC-10s? They used to use them to the Caribbean, but they were replaced with those high-density 777s.

I'd right now say that the current percentage is about 80-85% in the World Images, leaving 15-20% in the old colours, for now. The stylised Union Flag is getting painted on several 777 and 767 aircraft. More slowly the 747-400 will be painted in the Union Flag. I suspect that a few 747-200 will also be painted in the UF, but not many, and only as the timetable permits it. There are probably about 3-5 747-200 that are in the old colours. And most -400 are in the new colours.
