Doesn't anyone know what the name of the aircraft is (written underneath the cockpit windows)?

That looks good!

Curious to know: What are the four "dots" in the white underbelly? One under the first A in Qatar, one under the T and two under the second A.

I'm tired of the A vs. B sniping. Neither make planes that shed wings randomly!

The first thing I thought when seeing this picture was: "that's one giant Embraer".
Sorry, ANA livery looks better in my opinion. QR livery is just too... grey. I don't like it.

I'm guessing you've never seen either in person? The Qatar colors on the 787 just pop, it's quite dynamic. But, to each their own

The Writing says "Ras Rikin" which means Cape Rikin, the northernmost tip of the Qatari peninsula. Most planes are named after places in Qatar. With more than 100 planes, some planes are named after desert areas!

IMO, to date, the 787 looks the best in Qatar colors. It has a very sharp and classy appearance..

Is it just me, or is the gray grayer than usual? Looking through the db, it seems like other Qatar jets appear to be painted with a tanner gray..

However, the titles on the 787 seem smaller than the rest of the fleet!

I have to agree with you, looking at the pic. Somehow, in QR's livery the 788 looks a bit more stubby.

I hope to see it at LHR this year, will be able to make better judgement. I've seen QR's 77F a couple of times at AMS, and that one looks great.... Not as great as LAN's 77F though, and I look forward to see their 787 soon. It should be a stunner

You can see the size of billboard titles are realtivly smaller on the 787

The oryx is smaller too! For the life of me I can't figure out why the titles look smaller on the 787 than the A330.. the titles end slightly before the top of the A330's door but on the 787 they extend all the way to the top (bigger?!).

IIRC, LHR would be one of the first 787 routes for QR. Next February I will go to SEZ, and I considered QR if the 787 was included in the itinerary. OTOH a QR 787/A319 combination vs a EK A380/A345 combination.... I'll choose the latter! I mean, 16'9" Y seats in the 787    vs 18" seats with 33" pitch in the A345! And, how many opportunities will be left to fly an A340-500?    In 10 years time, airports will crowded with 787s, it's probably a bore to fly one then

Agree with you... the best livery of QR is for sure on the 777. Pity that they didn't take the same for the 787.

I like it very much. Best looking livery to date on the 787. Not just another boring white aircraft with a little decoration on the tail. I will agree with B738FlyUIA though, it does look better on the 777. That may just be a bias though as i think the triple looks good whatever it's wearing.

Yes and Qatar's 787s should be the only 'coloured' 787s until Royal Jordanian takes deliveries of theirs (which should be Q1 2013 or thereabouts).

Anybody know what time it's expected to arrive at Farnborough? I've yet to see a 787 and I'm only a few miles away...

25 Post contains images poLOT : The titles likely look smaller because the plane is smaller. There is less space ahead of the wing for the titles, so they have to be scaled smaller
26 pygmalion : It is the second 787 for Qatar. A7-BCA is still in Everett. A7-BCB was ready and was sent.
27 clydenairways : I don't think it looks that good on the 787, it looks much better on the 777 and 330.
