Is this how a typical wind shear looks like (with a happy ending here)?

If there are reports of expected wind shear, are throttles kept at above idle just to be able to recover in case the a/c actually gets pushed to ground? I hope to start my PPL soon, so just asking...

FAA killed the purpose of my old signature: Use of approved electronic devices is now permitted.

That could be minor vertical windshear. Though it's hard to tell, it looks like in the very beginning of the video that there were slight crosswinds.

If windshear is consistent at an airport, oftentimes flights will begin to divert after more than two missed approaches. This is common in airports like DEN and ASE and COS. If you're in any modern airliner on final approach, EFIS will throw up a shear warning verbally. SOP is then to go around. Wind shear is too unpredictable to fool around with.
