Lufthansa will not order any new planes this year but a long haul order is in the works. This what fleet planer Nico Buchholz had to say in Farnborough:

"It is true that we find the 787-10 very interesting and Boeing knows that as well. We are in contact with Boeing regarding the 787 but it is still an open discussion"

I still think LH is going to buy the A350-900 to replace their A330-300 and A340-300 fleets, but the 787-10 and 787-9 could do the job, as well.

I am not so sure, LH would have placed an order for the A350 by now if they wanted it.

We can make a bet, I say 787-10, you A359 - deal ??

Wait... the Euro is betting Boeing, and the Colonist is betting Airbus?

Given the lack of extremely long routes in the LH network, I could see the combination of the 787-10 and the A350-1000 working out very well for LH.
